AGRICULTURAL JOURNALIST/PR PROFFESIONAL

About us

Kendalls is a PR and marketing agency specialising in agriculture, land use, rural affairs and associated industries, ranging from environment and energy, to animal health and crop production. We also have a range of clients in these and other sectors covering healthcare, professional firms, charities and small businesses.

Kendalls offers a fully integrated range of PR and marketing services, including media relations, issues management, public relations, advertising, design and print and event management.

We are seeking both full-time and part-time agricultural journalists / PR professionals with strong industry knowledge to support our clients in raising their profiles. The role will involve writing technical features and news articles, press releases, and supporting social media campaigns.

Key responsibilities

  • Research and write high-quality articles, reports, and features on agricultural topics.
  • Conduct interviews with farmers, industry experts, and policymakers.
  • Ability to research and cover trends in crop production, livestock, agri-technology, sustainability, and rural economy.
  • Investigate challenges such as climate change, market shifts, pests/disease outbreaks, and policy impacts.
  • Produce compelling multimedia content when needed.
  • Collaborate with editors and contribute to story ideas and coverage planning.
  • Ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to deadlines.

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience in reporting on agriculture or environmental topics.
  • Have strong writing and interviewing skills.
  • Ability to translate technical agricultural information into clear, engaging content.
  • Understanding farming systems and current industry trends.
  • Ability to travel for field reporting and events.

Location: Hybrid (Primarily remote, occasional travel to the office in Beccles, Suffolk or elsewhere in the UK for events)

Salary: Depending on experience

Contract type: Permanent
