Fram Farmers

Fram Farmers is a farmer-owned cooperative, providing the purchasing, crop marketing and administrative function for over 1400 farming businesses across the UK. Formed over 60 years ago, the group operates nationally, though is one of Kendalls’ most local clients, with its head office in Framlingham, Suffolk.

Its team of professionals supports arable and livestock businesses of all sizes and structures, from large scale operations to smaller family-run farms. The cooperative’s long-established partnerships with national, regional and local suppliers allows it to provide members with reliable service, consistent value, competitive prices and terms, and expert advice all year round.

Kendalls has worked closely with Fram Farmers for around five years, working with their internal marketing team to raise media and industry awareness of the role and benefit of farming cooperatives, and the vast range of services and technical expertise it provides to members.

Managing the overall PR activity, Kendalls regularly produces engaging, written copy in the shape of press releases and technical advisory articles for regional and national farming press, as well as media liaison and press briefings for events.

In spring of 2021, we organised and delivered the industry launch of the UK’s first commercially available robotic tractor, which was in operation on a member’s Suffolk farm. With a large number of press contacts in attendance, the event achieved a great amount of print, online and social media coverage, including the front cover of national farming publication Farmers Weekly.

A key area of our work for Fram Farmers is the production of their quarterly members magazine – Farmers First. This includes the planning, creation and delivery of a 24-page magazine, including advertising sales. Editorially, we work with all departments and teams across the organisation to gather technical content, and regularly speak to Fram Farmers members to produce on-farm case studies to demonstrate the benefits of Fram Farmers membership.

Press and media liaison, briefings and events

Kendalls provides the press office function to Fram Farmers, acting as the first point of contact between the organisation and the media. This includes organising media briefings and events for product or new launches, inviting members of the press to key calendar events, and placing editorial content.

Technical writing – articles and news releases

Planning, writing and distributing written content to key industry and regional media contacts.

Produce quarterly 24-page member magazine

Planning, creation and delivery of the magazine ‘Farmers First’, including advertising sales.

Literature design, print and content

Plan, produce content and manage the design and print process for organisational literature such as brochures and member welcome packs.
